We'd be able to present the SierraDNA and ActiveRecord/ActiveModel frameworks with some of the tools we're building (~1 hour?). If folks have access to their home III database systems, we could also host a workshop/hackfest around these tools.

'''Text mining: An introduction''' - This hands-on workshop will introduce participants to the use of Python's Natural Language Toolkit ([http://www.nltk.org NLTK]), and through this process participants will learn the rudiments of text mining. While it may sound trivial, the workshop will count and tabulate words. How many words are in a given document? What are those words, and how often do they occur? Part of the management is to address issues of resource transience and attempts to create persistence. The Handle System is a specification for assigning, managing, and resolving persistent identifiers for digital objects. This presentation will provide background on Handle as well as some user tools that Wheaton College has created to simplify the creation, management, and deletion of Handles.

Hosting a conference is incredibly complex, and it cannot be done without the help of the entire community. If you are interested in being an awesome person and applying your skills to a particular part of the Code4Lib 2016 conference, create an account on this wiki and sign-up for one or more of the groups below (please provide a contact). Each committee must have a Primary Contact (chair), Secondary Contact (co-chair), and Documentarian (secretary). The role of the Documentarian is to transcribe key information to future conference committees, such as timelines, costs, process, etc. Feel free to improve the summary statements for each of the committees. When adding your name, please indicate 'v' if you are a veteran on the committee so that we ensure committees are not made up entirely of newbies.

We will assign a local contact (LPC) to each committee.
