2017 Keynote Committee

This group will: gather nominations from Code4Lib community; contact nominees to confirm their willingness and availability; collect bios from the available nominees and add them to the Diebold-o-Tron; support the voting process; work with the community's top nominees to schedule their keynotes; and collaborate with other committees and the community to ensure everything is communicated appropriately and logistical matters are given suitable attention.

Tuesday, October 4, kick-off meeting:

Attendees: Brian Rogers, Joshua Gomez, Mark Sandford, Norma Palomino, Selena Chau

Minute notes:

Process milestones: 1) Call for nominations from today (Oct 4th) until Friday, October 14th. 2) Poll from October 15 through October 21st. 3) Shortlist of candidates: by Friday, Oct 21st. Committee meets again.

  • Norma to send a new Doodle poll to book a meeting the week of Oct 24 to go over the nominees list

  • Top voted candidates: Andreas ("Dre") Orphanides and Christina Harlow

Action items:

  • Norma to email top two voted candidates informing the final results and asking to choose between delivering opening or closing remarks
  • Joshua to update Conference website with information about keynote speakers
