# Digital humanities and libraries - This pre-conference/workshop will introduce participants to the concepts surrounding digital humanities computing. Built on the seemingly rudimentary process of counting words, digital humanities computing enables the student, scholar, or researcher to do "distant reading" and textual analysis against a single text or a large corpus. With the ever increasing amount of full text in our libraries, digital humanities computing offers significant growth opportunities for librarianship.
